Day 8 - what is important to you?

It is really important to your well being to know what you enjoy doing, what is important to you and planning time on these activities.

  • What is most important to you and what do you most enjoy doing?
    • Most important person is my partner and the pivot around which the point of everything revolves. I enjoy the time we spend together just watching a movie or going on holiday and doing holiday things. I also enjoy the solitary pursuit of creating music or being absorbed in a book.
  • When did you last do them?
    • Holiday time: about two weeks ago. Music/books: in the last week. Just watching a movie together: last night.
  • When are you next going to do them?
    • holiday: four weeks. Music/books: tomorrow. Movie: tonight.

Write down what success looks like, feels like and sounds like to you right now in your life and what it will be like in five years time.

  • Success looks like a brilliant light - sunlight.
  • It feels like a deep excitement in the pit of the stomach.
  • It sounds like the lapping of water and the sounds of seabirds.
  • Success in five years time will look like a warm glow - sunrise with that blue-morning kind-of-light.
  • It will feel like contentment.
  • It will sound like the chink of coffee cups on outdoor tables and the sound of a harbour, with sails flapping and the shingle sighing.
Day 8 - what is important to you?
1 How did you feel? surprised at how quickly I was able to answer these questions.
2 In what way did you find the challenge useful?
Remember even if the challenge was negative this is an excellent learning for yourself.
I'm not too sure yet.
3 What insight did you gain? That I have a very clear idea about what the sense of success means to me.
4 What did you learn about yourself? Success means something that isn't necessarily about fame/fortune and all the usual stuff, but a kind of deep contentment.
